Changes in sleeping habits

Lately when I lay Carter down to sleep he pops right back up, stands in his crib and cries then falls down and cries some more and more..and then falls asleep. The only thing that I have changed is that he gets formula now instead of breast milk. When I am feeding him he is almost zonked out and then i go to lay him down and up he pops like he is wide awake?? I don't know if it is the formula switch, his teething, or just his age and all the stuff he is going through like growing and learning to crawl/stand?
