I fell in love with another man..

on Monday night, 7:01pm at Northside Hospital. Carter Thomas made his arrival by c-section :) I had gone to the hospital with labor pains earlier that day that hurt terribly but once I got to the hospital the pains stopped!! Figures! My doctor just happened to be in the hospital that day on call. Talk about coincidence! Well he checked me and NO PROGRESS! HUH? They monitored and saw contractions but nothing had changed and Carter was till up north. So Dr. H told me to go home. They we started talking and he said he could take the baby out today by csection if i was comfortable with that since for weeks no progress was made and we were nearing my due date. He wanted us to make the decision on our own so he walked outside and my DH and I decided we wanted that day to be the day we met our son.

We left the room an hour later to go to the operating room. They prepped me and then my DH came in and sat behind me. There were a bunch of people in the room. They got started without delay and had so much trouble getting little Carter out of my belly. My DH told me DR. H was actually laying across my belly to get him out - I knew this too because I couldnt breathe for a while and was gasping for air. They finally got him out and figured out why it was so difficult - Carter weighed in at 8lbs 12 ounces and 22 inches long!! I am 5'2" and weighed about 105lbs before I got pregnant. LOL. I remember my DH saying "baby you did sooo good" and updating me on how he looked and all I kept saying was "is he ok, is he normal?"..

They then wheeled me down to recovery and Carter was breathing very fast and they determined he had low blood sugar (common in big babies) and had to put a tube down his throat and feed him formula. That was very difficult to watch from my stretcher right next to him. I then finally was brought my baby. It was hard not to be able to hold him but my doctor told DH and I that we did the right thing taking the baby out then and that he doubted I would have ever got him out naturally.

So we are home from the hospital now. We left on turkey day in the evening - boy was it cold! Yes I talked to Molly (budgetbride26) while I was there - we just knew we were going to be at the hospital together hahah. Carter is doing good. He has his days/nights mixed up cuz he has been screaming bloody murder at night only. Day he sleeps and it is hard to even wake him sometimes to breastfeed him. He also doesnt want to sleep anywhere but in my arms at night. During the day he has been sleeping next to me in the bed while I watch TV. All in all we all are doing wonderful and couldnt be happier and more proud. We just love our baby boy!!

Here are the first pics ever of Carter Thomas.
